Accepted Answer

The largest concentration of padel courts is in the district capital, Portalegre, followed by the town of Elvas. Together, these two locations account for most of the 8 courts in the region. Question 3

Accepted Answer

Compared to Évora and Beja, Portalegre has fewer padel courts per capita. Évora, in particular, has a more developed padel scene with a higher number of venues and regular tournaments. However, Portalegre offers a more intimate setting, with 4 venues and 8 courts, which can appeal to players seeking less crowded sessions.

Question 4

Is padel growing in Portalegre?

Accepted Answer

Yes, padel is growing in Portalegre, albeit from a low base. The region currently has 8 courts across 4 venues, and there is active interest from local clubs to expand. Question 5

Are there any indoor padel courts in Portalegre?

Accepted Answer

As of now, the 8 padel courts in Portalegre are predominantly outdoor, with only a small number of covered courts available. Indoor options are limited, so players should check with individual venues for weather-resistant facilities. The mild Alentejo climate means outdoor play is viable for most of the year.
