Frequently asked questions

What types of court funding are available for padel venues?▾
The main options are asset finance (leasing), commercial loans, hire purchase, and revenue-based financing. Asset finance and leasing are most common because they allow you to pay for courts in monthly installments, often with no large deposit required. Commercial loans give you full ownership upfront but require stronger credit history. Revenue-based funding ties repayments to your venue's income, suited for startups with limited track record.
How does padel court leasing work?▾
Leasing (also called asset finance) lets you use the court for a fixed term – typically 36 to 84 months – while making monthly payments. At the end of the term you can purchase the court for a residual value or refinance. Leasing often includes installation and maintenance packages. Approval depends on your business's financial health rather than personal credit, and you can usually get a decision within 48 hours.
What credit score or financials are needed to qualify?▾
For asset finance, you typically need a business credit score of 80+ (Dun & Bradstreet) and at least 12 months of trading history. For startups, we require a personal guarantee from directors with a good personal credit score (above 650). Commercial loans may require 2+ years of accounts, a debt service coverage ratio (DSCR) above 1.25, and a deposit of 20-30%. Each funder has its own thresholds.
Can court funding include installation, surfacing, and accessories?▾
Yes. most funders allow you to bundle the court structure, glass panels, turf, lighting, nets, and installation labour into a single finance package. This is known as a 'turn-key' lease. The total funded amount can range from £40,000 for a single indoor court to £200,000+ for multi-court outdoor facilities. Ensure you have a detailed quote from a certified installer before applying.
How long does the funding approval process take?▾
For asset finance, expect 24 to 72 hours for initial approval after submission of a completed application and supporting documents (bank statements, company accounts, ID). Harder funding like commercial loans can take 2 to 4 weeks because they involve property valuations and legal checks. Using a broker like TrustPadel can speed up the process by matching you with the right funder from the start.
